Gareth Lyons is a screenwriter based in Ireland. He makes funny weird things for funny weird people.

Initially starting in Animation, he worked for a variety of studios making and developing animated projects before finding himself drawn to writing. He's undecided whether that pun was intended.

Whether it's Pre-school short Zoot & Friends for RTÉ to the animated adult sitcom Ends Meet for... RTÉ, he's always looking to tell stories for a wide audience of misfits.
Recently, Gareth wrote and directed animated absurdist comedy 'PORK' which screened in the 2021 BFI London Film Festival. He has just finished up writing several scripts for Daily Madness’ new preschool series 'Ray of Sunshine' set for release late 2022.
The man has a fierce energy and unique sense of humour which he brings to every project. He loves writing, cartooning and collaborating to tell amazing stories!

But what are the cool people saying?
"Gareth’s writing on 'Ray of Sunshine' was a breath of fresh air. He understood the characters so well and easily adapted to the style of writing the show required. His scripts were a joy to read and have ended up being some of our favourites!"
- Shannon George. Co-Creator of Ray of Sunshine and Creative Director at Daily Madness.
“Gareth is an immensely talented writer and artist, he would be a valuable addition to any production."
- Richie Conroy, Head Writer on 'The Ugly Duckling and Me' and 'Fran: Assistant Manager'.

"Gareth was one of our First Credit Initiative writers on 'Ray of Sunshine', but already writes with the confidence and strength of a much more seasoned writer. His scripts were always a joy to read - incredibly solid on structure, wonderfully playful sense of humour, and with a real sense of heart in every episode. Gareth was also just a pleasure to work with, always intelligently addressing notes with a great, quick grasp of the tone of the show."

- Kristina Yee. Co-Creator of Ray of Sunshine and Head Writer at Daily Madness.
